Fog Cutter

The Fog Cutter is a vintage tiki cocktail invented by Victor Bergeron that mixes a few spirits together, making this cocktail high in alcoholic content. The recipe was first featured in Bergeron’s original 1947 Bartender Guide that contained a quote that stated, “Fog Cutter, hell. After two of these, you won’t even see the stuff”.

  • 1/2 oz Cognac
  • 1/2 oz Dry Gin
  • 1 1/2oz Bacardi Superior Rum
  • 1 1/2 oz Orange Juice
  • 1/2 oz Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 oz Sherry Sweet
  • 1/2 oz Orgeat Syrup
  • Garnish: Mint Sprig or Orange Wheel

Shake all the ingredients, except the sherry, with ice and strain into an ice-filled cocktail glass. Float the sherry on top of the drink, garnish with a mint sprig or orange slice.
